I was a little tired driving up there but feeling pretty good. Once we got there I went out and tested out the track with Zach and Fessler. It felt really nice and made my legs feel good. I relaxed between then and my race time. I warmed up for ten minutes and then went through my dynamic drills/stretches. The legs didn't feel too rested, which was good because I knew that my legs work better that way. I just didn't think about it and tried to just run.

I had pretty good position coming off the line. Everyone backed off about 450 meters in though, so I had to navigate a little then. I was pretty money with my pacing. I ran 5:00 at the mile and was able to hold on and just push hard that second mile. I was about a second off with 400 meters to go, and I knew I just had to go. I ended up moving into the lead and just gave it everything. I could feel the energy from my TEAM, which was awesome. I crossed the line, and just knew I had done it. I never really had a big celebration though, I think that is because I've been ready for that race for a year and a half, and finally did it.

I talked to everyone for quite a while after. Then I went out with Fessler and we cooled down over two miles. It was a good and relaxing cooldown. I ended up missing the finals by two spots, but I had mixed feelings. It wasn't really disappointing. It was a long night cheering on all my TEAMmates, and then I took an ice bath after.
