Ran the 6.3 mile loop today. My legs definitely felt a bit tired as the run progressed, especially my quads. I tried to keep things at a good pace but relaxed throughout the run, and then focus in on my effort the last couple of miles. I ended up averaging 6:07s. I had all sorts of people waving at me today. With two miles to go there was an older guy in his yard and he was like, "SHHEEEEESHH!! I'M GLAD I DON'T HAVE TO RACE YOU. . . . YOU'RE FLYIN' KID!"

Had a pretty solid run with Tom today. He had to poop again so that killed our momentum. I lost him on the uphill, and then he still wanted to try and average 6:20, but I lost him again on the downhill when I was keeping the pace. I ended up averaging 6:23, so still a super solid effort. My legs started to tighten up when we stopped for Tom to poop. I felt really good on the long uphill though. I was exhausted after the run though.

Ran a watchless six miles. It didn't feel too terribly slow. My legs got really tired the last two miles and I felt like my form was falling apart. I did 4x100m strides afterward.

Easy, watchless six miles again. My legs felt really tired during the first half of my run today. My left IT band was a little tight. I did about half of the run on dirt and grass. Towards the end, the ball of my left foot where the toes attach hurt a little, and my left knee was also a little tender. Hoping to feel a lot better for the long run tomorrow.

Got up and at it this morning before the sun was out and while it was still cold. My breathing felt really off for the first six or so miles, which was evident in side aches. I tried really hard to work the uphills today. Between that and it being cold, when I made the last little uphill climb back to 8th East with two miles to go, my glutes really locked up, and I had to fight that for the last mile and a half. I ended up averaging 6:21, and I was pretty happy with that effort. I didn't have any aches or pains either which was nice.

It was an average 6 miles, nothing too crazy. My legs started to feel heavy with about two miles to go, but things didn't feel too bad considering it was a Monday. Around 6:20 average.

Was hoping today would just be some miles and I wanted to run at what felt comfortable really. For the first two-thirds of the run my breathing was really off so I didn't feel comfortable. The last two miles or so my legs got really tired. Overall things felt really tired today, and it may all be because of how poor my nutrition was after my run yesterday (eating rice krispy treats for a few hours and not eating until 9:30 at night). My left foot felt a little tender in varying places today as well. I ended up averaging 6:20s still though.

I ended up getting my run in in the morning today because Tom's achilles is still bothering him and he isn't runing. I did the 6.3 mile loop at a pretty average effort. I didn't end up wearing my watch. The legs still felt tired, especially the uphills towards the end. I did 4 strides afterwards, and those felt pretty good on the last two. My left foot is still hurting, I think it's probably some bruising or something.

Things did not feel as good as I wanted them to today. My glutes were really sore/tired on the uphills, and my legs overall didn't have much pop. My lower legs even gave me a few aches and pains, which was a little concerning. I'm going to have to be careful as my shoes may be going out.. I stretched afterwards and hopefully that will help. Averaged 6:24. Oh yeah, I also almost got ran over half a mile into my run.

Ran a comfortable four miles this morning before school. I really like running in the mornings as it is much easier mentally. Things all felt pretty good; breathing, legs and all. 

I got a little bit more running around at the mountain regional watching the races. It was fun to watch the men's race, and all I can say is nationals is going to be real tasty. It was also to see some people at the race, specifically Coach Buhrley.

Mentally I wasn't sure about this run, but it ended up being a good one. The first hill starting out my glutes felt like they were really going to bother me. My lower legs also had some minor aches around 4-5 miles in but it went away after that. My legs felt relatively tired the first six miles, which I averaged 6:32ish through those. I felt really good the last five, and actually was able to hold on the last two miles better than I thought I would be able to. Ended up averaging 6:21 miles for the entire run, which I am happy with.

Went out in the middle of the day for my run. My legs were definitely tired, but not as heavy as I would have expected. The outside of my hamstrings into the IT band were really tight though. I just went on an average run, ended up averaging 6:18s. I expect my legs to be really tired and heavy tomorrow.

Felt surprisingly better than I expected to today. I went and did six miles, and my legs never really felt super heavy or tired. I also felt really relaxed and my cheeks were bouncing most of the run. Averaged 6:11s for the run, and then did 4x100 meter strides after. Things felt good all around.

The weather was not the most ideal for my run today, but it ended up being a great run anyways. The first four miles of my run were against the wind, and of course the worst part of the wind was in the open going up the long hill before I got to four miles. Between the wind and the hill I was pretty spent aerobically at the top. I recovered on the steep downhill and then once I turned onto 8th east I had the wind at my back and felt really good the rest of the way back. I actually passed a guy that I'm pretty sure is on the track or xc team at USU, but I think he was taking it easy. At any rate ended up averaging 6:11s.

Didn't really care how fast todays run wasy, but I went out and felt pretty good so it was a pretty typical run. My legs, especially my quads, felt a little tired on the uphills, but not nearly what I would have expected. I wanted to throw in some surges at the end, but after I did one my legs started to really give out so I just waited until the last 200 meters and then just kicked it in. Between the temperature and tired legs I couldn't get them going super fast. The average pace for the run ended up being 6:11 again.

I need to start working on my core again. I've really neglected it over the last couple of months.

First run in the cold and I didn't have a toque, so it was risky with my ears being too cold. Did a little over five miles and just enjoyed the run. Did a few quick strides afterwards.

Went out for twelve. Luckily I bought a Roque yesterday. I was surprised with how tight my calves were throughout the whole run. My glutes also got worse after each upfill. The 10th north last big uphill really caused them to lock up. I could feel that my left foot was bruising as well from the pounding. Ended up averaging 6:18s, so an extremely good run.

Waited a little while until the rain calmed down. I ran watchless, but my breathing felt a little off, which was probably a sign that I was running a tad bit too fast. My calves were still pretty sore. I ended up being overdressed because the rain let up. Did a few strides afterwards which felt really good.

Did some core afterwards, and I could tell I've really neglected that.

Ran early in the morning. I did 1.7 miles through campus before meeting up with Tom. We did just over 4 miles probably in the 6:40s, that's what it felt like at least since neither one of us were wearing a watch. It was nice to run with someone again. Everything on my right side was giving me aches at the beginning of my run. Tom's leg was still hurting him, he thinks he needs new shoes.

Went out in the rain/snow mix after working at the auto body shop all day. I was hoping to do 8 but my family was waiting on me for supper so I cut it back to six miles. Unfortunately I was in such a hurry getting out the door that I didn't set my watch to chrono, so I missed the time on the run. I felt pretty good, and it's amazing how much easier it is to run in West Point compared to in Logan.

It was pretty good weather, cool, but really nice once the sun was up. The hardest part was probably that the roads were kind of slick because the thin layer of water had frozen over night, so I didn't have the best traction at places. The uphills were a little harder than I wanted them to feel, but I think this may have just been how cold my legs were. My run itself was about 8.7ish miles, and then I did some jogging and strides afterwards to get the daily total up to 9. The average for the run was 6:05s, so I can't complain about that.

Nothing too crazy to say about the run today. I did six miles on the small road for old times sakes. I was hoping to see more runners out. My first four miles felt pretty good, around 6:10 pace. After that my legs got pretty tired and my left shin gave me a little bit of ache as well. I let up on my effort just a little bit so the last couple of miles were probably more like 6:20s. Averaged 6:13s for the whole run. Did some toe and heel walks after to help out my lower legs.

Ran with good old Tracy this morning. We had to fight the wind the first half of the run, but it was nice coming back. Things felt pretty good, my left hurt ached just from where it seems to be bruised. He helped keep my pace more consistent and in control, as well as gave me some marathon training advice. Averaged around 6:22s.

Followed Tracy's advice and put a few more miles in. Aerobically I didn't feel as good as I would have liked, but I tried to just listen to my breathing to help control the effort I was putting forward. My legs were a little tired, but it didn't really slow me down. It was flurrying the whole run. I averaged right on 6:20s.

6:15 pace for 7.5 miles. Not much to say about it. The normal toe bending ache was there at times. My left hip hurt going up the first hill like it did yesterday but felt fine after that. I did have a lot of gas on the run today..

Went in the morning so it was a little cooler. I couldn't really get my legs going, which I feel was a combination of them being tired, it being the morning, and it being cooler. I did some strides after the run to get the legs moving the way they should be.
