I mostly just wanted to get some time on the feet this morning, as this week hasn't been ideal volume wise and what not. It also ended up feeling way coldert than I thought it was, probably due to the fog and humidity in the air. I did explore the Hyde Park Canal, which is a nice mix up, but I wish it was longer. I'm amazed at how relatively easy running 6:20s is getting to be. My bowels still weren't in cooperation, and I had to actually stop a few times just to keep myself from pooping until I reached a porta potty, so that did slow me down some. 6:30 average.

Could not get the bowels moving this morning, so I had to stop at my new favourite porta-potty. I was also running in the snow the whole run, which is always a fun experience. Luckily the roads weren't in terrible shape, especially once I was into North Logan as they don't see as much traffic that early in the morning. Cars do not respect you though when there is snow on the roads. My left foot seemed pretty tight the first mile or two, but didn't bother me after that. 6:41 average. The last few miles I felt it was really hard to keep my legs moving. In general I think running on snow requires more effort relative to the speed.

Chilly this morning, had to break out all of the true winter running gear. I was pretty warm once I was about two miles in though. I had my watch covered by my pullover, so I had no idea how fast I was going. I did get in the long hill today because I need to make the most of these hills before I'm not in Logan for a couple of weeks. 6:44 average. Not bad considering. I still had to stop at a porta-potty, and my hips just didn't feel right, I didn't feel like I quite had my full stride.

It was another cold and foggy morning. Brother Lucherini told me it was 5 degrees at his house in North Logan, and I always run past his house. I was pretty covered in frost by the end of the run. 6:48 average, things felt fine, and I finally didn't have to stop and poop. It's hard to pick it up when it's that cold though.

Man this semester is doing me. It's getting increasingly hard to get out of bed. It's also a lot harder to run in the cold, and my 6:45 pace feels harder than it should. Part of it may be that I haven't been foam rolling, but I don't necessarily think that is it. 6:46 average. Cold and foggy, again.

Hills and some cruising today. It also wasn't foggy until like the last two miles of my run, which was nice. Still pretty cold though. A poop surprised me and I knew my only hope was going to be some guys playing some pick-up basketball at a church. Luckily they were there. 6:41 average.

My hips have felt pretty tight since the run yesterday.

I waited until it was light to run, but I still couldn't see for most of the run because of the fog. I have no idea how cold it was, but I couldn't feel my feet for the first four miles or so. It felt like the second coldest run I've ever done, just because I know that last year I ran once when it was -10°F. 6:27 average wasn't bad considering how cold my legs were even wearing tights. A poop surprised me out of no where about 10 miles in, but I amazingly discovered that the Smithfield Cemetary has a heated bathroom! This is a great route for hills, but you are almost always either climbing or dropping.

6:37s for another foggy morning. The inversion has set in though, and I could definitely feel that in my lungs. The legs felt pretty good other than being cool. My hands were freezing today as well. Had quite the coughing fit after the run.

6:36 average, got in my last Cache Valley hills of the year. My hips felt tired before the run, but didn't bother me too much once I was rolling.

Intended on just relaxing for the run, but of course the fact that it was warmer than I've been used to and that I was on the flat had me running fairly fast still. My left calf/lower leg felt really tight for a lot of the run, which I'm thinking is probably a sign I need to bring out the new shoes. 6:20 average. The last four miles I was trying to not get carried away after a 6:08 mile 8.

Running easy didn't work as well as I intended it to today. When you split a 6:23 uphill first mile, it's a pretty good sign taht it's going to be very challenging to go much slower.  By the end I had some 6:24s that were pretty relaxed. I broke out the new shoes today, and they felt great. Definitely should help with some of the minor lower leg stuff that has been bothering me. 6:21 average.

Snowed for the whole run. It took six or 7 miles for me to get my left hip feeling loose. There were points where the road was pretty slick as well. Miles 11-13 I was aiming for 5:40s, but went 5:53, 5:31, 5:31. The other 15 miles of my run were at a 6:13 average, with the first 4 being the slowest. 6:07 average for the entire run. Good effort. Definitely getting stronger.

Nice and easy miles out in Hooper this morning. 6:38 average. Left IT band felt a bit tight, but nothing crazy, I also was wearing shorts, so that may not have helped that situation. Effort felt very relaxed.

The legs felt more tired today than they did yesterday. About a mile in my left quad felt really tight, but it loosened up. 6:30 average, but probably should have run a little easier today.

Really windy for the run, which didn't help a whole lot. My legs felt really heavy and tired today. 6:33 average. In the second half I did 6x30 second pickups. I'm also longing for the hills of Cache Valley already.

Bipolar temperature kind of run depending on whether or not I was running against the wind. The wind was pretty brutal and very cold. Tried to just relax and not push too hard, but I did get as much uphill as I can in West Point, which isn't a ton, but better than nothing. 6:36 average. Legs felt much better today. Yesterday I made it a point to eat some protein after my run, and didn't foam roll.

Stayed up until 1:30 last night, and I feel that that was probably the biggest factor in why my run didn't go as well as I would have liked. The first six and a half miles or so my stomach didn't feel very settled. I also could tell my legs didn't seem to have any pop or spring to them and 6:30s felt fairly hard. I was also running through snow and slush for the first 11 miles of the run. I started to feel a little better about 8 miles into the run. My left knee was bothering me in the middle of the run, but I think it got bruised somehow. 6:31 average. I was kind of bummed that I didn't have the best long run, but pretty quickly I realized I have a lot to be grateful for. What was an off run for me, is something most people can't even dream of doing. There are also people around me that are going through much greater physical challenges.

My stomach was not happy after eating all day yesterday and then running in the middle of the day didn't seem to help either. 6:33 average. My left ankle/shin started bothering me, but I think my shoes have just bruised my ankle. Beautiful weather

Temperature all over the place, but otherwise a pretty good run. 6:28 average. Felt relatively good, I did have some stomach issues though from about mile 4.5 on, but nothing that slowed me down. The legs didn't have the range of motion I would have liked, but I haven't really taken care of my legs the last two days.

Ran in the dark so that I could be done in time to go duck hunting. It was refreshing to be in the peace and quiet of the early morning hours again. My legs felt fine, and I wasn't really paying attention to pace but running by feel. I did have to stop at Stillwater and use a porta-potty though. 6:36 average with each mile getting progressively faster. From 6:50 at the beginning to 6:15 at the end

Wish I would have gotten out of bed and ran in the dark, it's so much easier mentally. For the first half of my run I was trying to get my breathing and my legs to cooperate with how I wanted to feel. The uphill ended up doing it for me though. The legs felt fine. 6:46 average.

Started my run at 4:20a.m. and did the whole thing in the dark. I would have liked to get 18 in but I didn't have time. The first few miles were a little slower, around 6:40s, but then I was able to drop down to around 6:15 to 6:20 for the majority of the run. My last mile was a 5:40. Other than one bathroom break, I felt pretty good. Harder to run fast in the dark, but mentally I love the peace of running in the dark.
