Race: Grizzly Invitational (1.989 Miles) 00:09:57, Place overall: 3, Place in age division: 3
Total Distance
7.50

Had a terrible bus ride to the meet because I was was on the edge of a seat and Daunte was like leaning against me the whole time. My back did not feel good after that. I warmed up and my legs felt ready to roll. I was in third position. I got into position after about 400 meters. The first 400 was perfect in 72. Malachi was leading and he didn't run quite as fast as I would have liked through the first mile. I was 5 flat of 5:01. I worked hard that second 1600 and there were three of us that broke away. We still closed negative. I almost got second place but he saw me coming and had another gear with about 50 to go. Rob said I maybe need to really put it out there the 6/7 lap because I don't finish quite as well. Buhrley also said I need to try and run the first 1600 better and run even moreso. I cooled down with Ryan and Fessler. I took it easy and cheered on my teammates. Then I warmed up and got ready to run the 800. I didn't really care what happened. I was 14th going in. I ran decent the first lap but would like to have ran a little faster, it was like 61/62. My legs started to give out 300 meters in though so I really had to fight. I ran a 2:06 for 9th place though so that wasn't bad. I did a long cooldown, which my legs were pretty dead in. Boys won the meet, but still lots of work for the end of the season to be as good as we would like.
